چکیده

This paper analyzes the channel model under mobile reception state firstly, then study the self-correlation characteristic of ATSC-Mobile DTV training sequence. According with the mobile channel characteristic and selfcorrelation of training sequence, proposed a parallel channel estimation algorithm with multi-channel to reduce the channel estimation time and to improve the estimation efficiency. Meanwhile, proposed a DFE equalizer structures based on sparse algorithm and validated the performance by simulation. Keywords-ATSC-M/H; channel estimation; sparse algorithm; equalizer

Multi-TS Channel Estimation and DT-DMCMA Adjustment Technique for ATSC-M/H DTV System

For the ATSC-Mobile DTV standard has much more training-sequence than the conventional ATSC digital television standard, in this paper, we propose a modified channel estimation structure using the additional training sequence to track the channel changes, which can fast start-up the receiver equalizer of ATSC-M/H digital television system in time varying mobile broadcasting channel. A dual thre...

Low-Complexity Blind Timing Recovery in Time-Dispersive Channels

The problem addressed in this thesis is how to perform symbol synchronization in the presence of channel dispersion. The motivation for this work was to design a synchronization system suitable for an ATSC terrestrial digital television receiver. While such receivers present some specific challenges, the work here is generally applicable to digital receivers working in the presence of dispersiv...

Receiver Design for Single Carrier Equalization in Fading Domain

Single carrier frequency division multiple access (SCFDMA) is one well-known scheme, which has recently become a preferred choice for uplink channels. Due to the usage of single carrier, the performance of SC-FDMA systems degrades in deep frequency selective fading channels. In this paper, we propose a structure of equalizer based on frequency domain decision feedback which could be used for mu...

Near - Optimum Blind Decision Feedback Equalization for ATSC Digital Television Receivers

Hyoung-Nam Kim et al. 101 This paper presents a near-optimum blind decision feedback equalizer (DFE) for the receivers of Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) digital television. By adopting a modified trellis decoder (MTD) with a traceback depth of 1 for the decision device in the DFE, we obtain a hardware-efficient, blind DFE approaching the performance of an optimum DFE which has no ...

Understanding ATSC Mobile DTV Physical Layer

1 Whitepaper The ATSC began work in 2007 on the development of an ATSC Mobile DTV Standard. This effort culminated in record time with the approval of the ATSC Mobile DTV Standard (A/153) in Oct. 2009. This paper will discuss the inherent challenges and the technology added to adapt the 8-VSB physical layer to mitigate the mobile fading channel and to enable ATSC Mobile DTV reception (A/153 sta...
